The Nordstrom Anniversary Sale is Coming Soon!
Another year, another Nordstrom Anniversary Sale! I’m not going to lie, there were a few weeks earlier this summer were I was scared the Nordstrom Anniversary Sales may not happen. With retail companies filing for Chapter 11 due to COVID-19 (J.Crew, Loft, and Neiman Marcus, to name a few), I really had no idea what to expect come July. Well, the sale is back again, and only a few weeks later than originally planned!
The Nordstrom Anniversary Sale is when Nordstrom debuts all of its new Fall apparel on sale. I know it’s difficult to think about sweaters and booties while it’s still 100º outside, but the sale also includes activewear, beauty and home decor. Furthermore, if there are Fall items that catch your eye, you’ll definitely want to snag them because after the sale, everything goes back to full-price.
I’ve rounded up a few items below that I love from the sale and think are going to sell out quickly. For example, faux leather leggings were a huge trend last fall, and I don’t see the trend going away anytime soon. These cult-favorite Spanx Faux Leather Leggings are included in the sale for over $30 off. However, if the Spanx leggings aren’t in your budget this year, Nordstrom has your back with their own version of the faux leather leggings for under $30.
Barefoot Dreams is another brand that sells out like hotcakes. Their blankets and loungewear are made for cozy nights on the couch. There are two Barefoot Dreams blankets included in this year’s sale: In the Wild & CozyChic™. Plus, if you’re as insane as me and think this is adorable, they also have a matching CozyChic™ Leopard Dog Sweater. If Emmie Lou wouldn’t hate me for it, I would 100% make her wear this sweater when it’s cold out and snowing in the winter.
See items you love and want to score them before the sell out? I’m sharing a few dates to remember.

Tips for Shopping the Sale:
Take inventory of what you need. Taking inventory of what you need before the sale keeps you from overspending. Whenever I shop a big sale, it’s normally for those essential items I always have in my closet year after year (white sneakers, fall booties, white blouses). To reduce clutter and over purchasing items I don’t need, I operate off of a purchase and donate/throw out mentality. For instance, I wore my favorite Cole Haan booties to the point where I had to hot glue the sole back to the shoe. (You guys, I LOVED these booties so much and wore them almost every day!!) Once the sole snapped off entirely and was beyond repair, I purchased a new pair of black booties and threw out my Cole Haan black booties. My closet wasn’t bursting at the seams, and I got a new pair of booties to wear.
Set your budget. You are able to preview the entire Nordstrom Anniversary Sale before it goes live to shoppers. Make a list of the items you have your eyes on, and your budget for your total purchase. I say this advice because so many of my friends have gotten caught up in the sale and spend $300+ without even realizing what is happening. You guys, this sale does crazy things!!
Save items to your wishlist. While previewing the sale, you’re able to easily add items to your wishlist on Nordstrom.com. By adding items to your wishlist, you are ready to go straight to checkout the day of the sale.
Disclaimer: I couldn’t publish this post without a disclaimer. COVID-19 has impacted each and every one of us differently. If purchasing items from Nordstrom is no longer in your budget, THAT’S OK!! I will continue to use this platform to offer discounted, but still fabulous, alternatives to the items you see at higher end retailers like Nordstrom. Life is tough right now, but so are you! If you find an item you love and are curious if there’s a cheaper alternative out there, comment below, and I’ll set you up.
